A new Hollywood feud is heating up after Brandi Glanville claims her son mistook his stepmom LeAnn Rimes' laxatives for candy and got sick from the pills the singer uses for weight loss.

Glanville of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," 40, told Us Weekly on Wednesday that her oldest son, nine-year-old Mason, became "extremely ill" after eating one of 30-year-old Rimes' laxatives.

"Mason, my eldest, ate some of Le's candies and got extremely ill. And Le's candies are laxatives. It was a big f--king deal for me, and I lost my mind," Glanville told Us Weekly.

"She has one in every purse. Mason found on on the floor and thought it was a Skittle! They don't keep sugar in the house," she went on. "He thought he finally found candy."

But Rimes' publicist Marcel Periseau denied the claims in a statement to E! News.

"Her whole show is based on controversy, drama and publicity," Periseau said. "She is the only one to gain by spewing forth inaccuracies, rants and half-truths. It's time for people to see it for what this really is...What better way to keep herself relevant?"

"Why is all the name calling just coming from one side?" Periseau continued. "Brandi keeps using threatening and mean-spirited statements…LeAnn and Eddie have the boys 50 percent of the time, so they are a family and LeAnn is a great and caring co-parent. As Brandi stated 'my boys love her' and LeAnn loves them."

Glanville also said that Rimes, who went to rehab for stress and anxiety in August, is not fit to be the stepmother of her children, Mason and five-year-old Jake, with ex-husband Eddie Cibrian.

"I, unfortunately, don't find her to be stable and I don't want her around my kids when Eddie's not there -- or at least the nanny, his parents, someone," Glanville said, also complaining Rimes did not put helmet on her son while riding his bike.

"Brandi keeps grasping at straws to make LeAnn seem like an unfit person," Periseau said in response to Glanville. "Brandi's story changes daily, one day it's an eating disorder, one day it's Twitter, one day the boys aren't safe, etc. She says she hasn't seen or spoken to LeAnn in months but yet knows everything that is going on. None of Brandi's allegations are true. People need to see it for what it is: Publicity."

"It's time for Brandi to move on," he said. "LeAnn has!"

Rimes' husband 39-year-old Cibiran also fired back at his ex-wife for publicly speaking out.

"It is absolutely ridiculous that my ex-wife continues to put the personal lives of myself, LeAnn, our sons and my family on public display for the sake of her notoriety. She is fully capable and has the means of contacting myself and LeAnn privately to discuss any matter concerning the children. The fact she chooses not to, should be pretty transparent. And while I do not wish to fuel her ever-igniting fire, there is a breaking point where enough is enough."

"My wife, LeAnn, continues to be a loving and positive influence on the lives of my sons," he continued. "They are without a doubt lucky to have her. The love they have for their 'bonus mom' continues to grow each day as we navigate the changes to our family; a fact that Brandi cannot argue as she herself has stated as much."

"If my ex-wife truly cared about the welfare of our sons, she would stop the constant bashing on an important person in their lives and focus on productive co-parenting to make our blended family the strongest it can be. And she would do so privately. Let's see . . ."
