Leon Cooperman, founder and CEO of Omega Advisors, a hedge fund based in New York, spoke at the Delivering Alpha conference, a CNBC and Institutional Investor-sponsored hedge fund summit.

Cooperman named companies he considered to be “top growth picks,” according to CNBC. In his first tier “quality growth basket," his suggested stocks included Express Scripts Holding Company (NASDAQ:ESRX), Qualcomm Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM), and Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (NYSE:TMO).

Another tier Cooperman called “Phoenix From the Ashes,” or stocks that he thinks will turn around, which included Qualicorp SA (BVMF:QUAL3), a Brazilian health care company, and SandRidge Energy Inc. (NYSE:SD).

In his final basket, Cooperman stated he liked the financials of Arbor Realty Trust Inc. (NYSE:ABR), Atlas Resource Partners LP (NYSE:ARP), Chimera Investment Corp. (NYSE:CIM), KKR Financial Holdings LLC (NYSE:KFN), and THL Credit Inc. (NASDAQ:TCRD).
