Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is a transfer target for Italian giants Roma and Juventus according to Italian sports paper Corriere Dello Sport, as reported by the Daily Mail.

The reports from Italy claim that Roma hope that a deal can be reached with Liverpool for the controversial striker for around £20 million ($32m).

Roma are also confident of landing their man as a result of Roma's president Thomas DiBenedetto being a minority shareholder in Fenway Sports Group, who own Liverpool.

It would be something of a surprise if the idea of selling Suarez had not crossed the minds of the decision-makers at Anfield. The Uruguayan's racism saga with Patrice Evra became a source of embarrassment for the club, particularly when Suarez refused to shake the Frenchman's hand.

Yet the technically-gifted 25-year-old remains comfortably the best forward option at Anfield. His lack of goals, just seven in the Premier League this season, is a concern, but that is as much down to the failings of the players around Suarez as it is his own wayward finishing.

If Liverpool do decide to let Suarez go then it is essential that they have a top-class replacement ready to come in.

One player the Reds appear to be targeting to add to their attacking options is Fulham forward Moussa Dembele. Caught Offside reports that Liverpool are keeping a keen eye on the 24-year-old Belgium international.

Demebele, has been impressive with his work rate and link-up play and had often been deployed behind the front line this season. Yet Dembele has only scored once in the Premier League all season. Given Liverpool's own scoring woes, despite the versatile player's many attributes, he would seem a strange choice to bring to the club.

Another player reportedly on Liverpool's radar is young Tranmere Rovers defender Danny Holmes, according to Sky Sports.

The 23-year-old is out of contract in the summer and so will be available on a free transfer. According to the report, Glasgow rivals Celtic and Rangers are also interested in Holmes.

I had a call from Glasgow Celtic in regards to Danny's availability and Liverpool have not ruled out a move for the youngster, said the player's agent Jonathan Hope, according to Sky Sports.

However, Hope also says that he believes it may be too early for Holmes to make the step-up to the Premier League.

I have to be realistic and put Danny at the right level so he is guaranteed game time, Hope said. There is no point in putting him up in the Premier League when he is still developing.

One player who could be heading out of Anfield come the summer is reserve goalkeeper Alexander Doni.

The former Roma number one is expected to fill-in for the suspended Pepe Reina in Liverpool's next three games, including the FA Cup semi-final with Merseyside rivals Everton.

Yet the Brazilian has spoken of his uncertainty over whether to remain warming the Liverpool bench next season.

Next year, I do not know where I will play, Doni said, according to the Telegraph. Being on the bench is not great. Liverpool have changed so much. There have been lots of ups and downs, but I'm learning the language and the experience is beautiful.

I miss Roma a lot because it always rains here in Liverpool.
