A flurry of goals in the 4-1 win over Chelsea on Tuesday is unlikely to distract anyone at Liverpool from their struggles in attack all season. And with a poor Premier League campaign about to come to an end, the Reds are likely to be looking to improve their options going forward for the next campaign.

One man who could inject some impetus to the Reds' attack is young Barcelona star Cristian Tello.

The Daily Mirror reports on Tuesday that Liverpool could be set for a battle with Spanish sides Atletico Madrid and Valencia for the wide forward. The story claims that Liverpool has been keeping a close eye on the 20-year-old for several months and will eagerly wait to discover how he his future is viewed by new Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova.

It is thought that Barcelona may be open to loaning out the player next season.

Liverpool has struggled for creativity from wide positions this campaign, with new signings Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson both failing to deliver. As well as Tello, another player the club are thought to be looking at to correct that problem is Eljero Elia.

The Dutch winger has endured a miserable first season at Juventus, appearing just four times in Serie A. It is no surprise then that the 25-year-old is looking to move on.

I want to leave Juventus, he told Algemeen Dagblad, according to ESPN Soccernet. I want to enjoy playing football again. I remained quiet all year, always keeping a positive attitude towards the club and the team, but I never got a chance to prove my worth.

I didn't play much and consequently I'll miss out on Euro 2012. It's fair to say this season has been a failure. It's really hurt me, but I've become stronger mentally. I'm 25 now and I still have a long career ahead of me.

Elia may not be the only Dutchman Liverpool try to bring to the club this summer, with the Reds said to be pursuing young striker Danzell Gravenberch. TalkSport reports that Liverpool is favorite to secure the signature of the powerful 18-year-old Ajax academy player.

Gravenberch is thought to be highly-coveted having impressed coming through the ranks at both Ajax and with the Dutch national setup.

Reports that Liverpool had already secured the signing of Swedish midfielder Rasmus Elm appear to have been premature, however.

The AZ Alkmaar player has said no deal has yet been finalized.

We'll see what comes, what happens in the transfer market, he said, according to Tribal Football. I love AZ. The atmosphere at the club, the people around the club, the city of Alkmaar: I enjoy it.

With several players likely to be arriving, Liverpool's owners, Fenway Sports Group, are sure to want to remove some existing members of the squad off the wage bill.

The Daily Mail reports that Maxi Rodriguez wants to have his contract with the club cancelled this summer. The Argentinian midfielder has failed to earn a regular starting place under Kenny Dalglish despite scoring six goals in just 12 starts during this campaign.
