Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o may no longer be playing the role of single lady.

Talk is swirling that Nyong’o and Somali-Canadian rapper K’Naan may be an item after the two were snapped embracing outside a television studio on March 3. Nyong’o, 31, and K’Naan, 36, were captured sharing a warm hug the morning following her big win. He even held her Oscar statuette as he appeared to be assisting Nyong’o and her team as they left the TV interview.

For weeks, Nyong’o has been linked to fellow Academy Award-winner and 30 Seconds To Mars front man Jared Leto. But the new photos have many speculating that K’Naan – whose real name is Keinan Abdi Warsame – is actually Nyong'o's special someone.

K’Naan was born in Somalia. His family later fled to Canada in the 1990s at the start of the country’s civil war, according to Radar Online. The site adds that the rapper grew up in a tough Toronto neighborhood where "K’Naan fell in with a Somali gang.” But it appears the rapper has made quite a transition from his younger years. His tracks tout very conscious lyrics and his song “Wavin’ Flag” was selected as the official anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
