Madonna has started a charity called Raising Malawi aimed at ending the poverty and hardships in the country and is calling out to the public to join her.

The pop queen was in Malawi this week to lay the foundation stone of the $15 million School she is building there.

The Material Girl adopted the Malawian-born Mercy this year after she adopted David in 2008.
