Madonna Turns Director For 'W.E.' and Lourdes Looks Like a Young Madonna

Madonna is taking on a new project in "W.E.", the singer's directorial debut. Madonna is not acting in the film, but will rather co-write the screenplay and direct the film.

The film has been picked up by The Weinstein Company for distribution in America. The story is about a "a two-tiered romantic drama focusing on a the royal love story between Britain's King Edward VIII and American divorcee Wallis Simpson, and a contemporary romance."

Madonna will be bringing the film to the Venice Film Festival and the 2011 Toronto Film Festival.

Like mother, like daughter. Madonna and her daughter Lourdes look more similar by the day!
