Maggie Gyllenhaal and husband Peter Sarsgaard are expecting their second child.

The expectant mother is about four months into her pregnancy, a source told Us Weekly. Gyllenhaal and Sarsgaard already have a 5-year-old daughter, Ramona.

Gyllenhaal spoke about balancing her personal and professional lives in a joint interview with her Nanny McPhee Returns co-star Emma Thompson for USA Today in 2010. She specifically mentioned her own role in that movie: an overwhelmed mother taking care of several children.

Mrs. Green is totally at wits' end and foundering and flailing and failing sometimes, but she's still a heroine and still a great mom, Gyllenhaal said of her character. To be both things at once is such a contemporary idea.
