“Mama June” Shannon is still on her journey to slim down and has reportedly decided to go under the knife to help her reach her weight loss goal. It’s been reported that Shannon, 36, has already lost 90 pounds and is hoping to drop another 80 after her procedure.

TMZ reports that the former “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” star will get gastric sleeve surgery this month. The outlet writes that Beverly Hills-based Dr. Michael Feiz, a “sleeve specialist,” will perform Shannon's surgery.

According to WebMD, gastric sleeve surgery is irreversible and makes a person’s stomach smaller by removing half of it, leaving a “thin vertical sleeve or tube that is about the size of a banana.” The procedure is designed to help in weight loss by making the person feel fuller quicker.

As previously reported, Shannon was hospitalized this month after fainting several times in her Georgia home. TMZ reported at the time that she had been complaining of feeling ill and had vomited. According to the outlet, Shannon was “pushing it with her diet” and had admitted to not eating much after walking down the stairs of her home and passing out. Her 16-year-old daughter Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon took June to the hospital after her faint spells continued.

In December, the reality star opened up about her weight loss telling InTouch magazine that she went from a size 28 to a 16.

“Honestly, when I first started losing weight, it was just becoming more active, being busy with the show and doing more things with ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,’” she said. “I’m just walking through the neighborhood three miles a day, and just keeping up with that and just keeping up with the kids and just kind of being on the go all the time.”
