Manchester United breezed past MLS' finest with a 4-0 victory over the David Beckham led MLS All Stars, as Dimitar Berbatov served a timely reminder to Sir Alex Ferguson of the quality he adds.

Berbatov pledged his future to Man United on Tuesday, and his performance against the All Stars, with Javier Hernandez suffering a concussion in training, showed that he intends to fight his way back into the team.

He was the instrumental figure in a classy first goal after a superb one-touch move initiated by him saw Wayne Rooney set up Anderson who finished with aplomb.

Park Ji-sung added a second as United went into half time with a 2-0 lead. Former United favourite David Beckham tried hard and failed to get MLS back into the game, drawing a great save from United keeper Anders Lindegaard with long shot on one occasion.

After the restart, Berbatov got a goal for himself. After being let through with a lob from Rooney, Berbatov shrugged off the last defender and lobbed over the opposing keeper. However the ball rebounded off the crossbar, but the Bulgarian had followed through and was in take it on the chest and smash in.

United rounded off the scoring when Danny Welbeck cut in from the left and struck from outside the box. His shot had a deflection off a defender, which was enough to wrong foot the keeper.

The following are the highlights.
