Manchester United forward Owen dribbles ball against Seattle Sounders FC defender Parke during their friendly match at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.

Manchester United are relentless, even in pre-season, as they handed Seattle Sounders a 7-0 trouncing, with Wayne Rooney grabbing a 21-minute hat-trick at the CenturyLink Field.

United had taken a 1-0 lead into half-time, after Michael Owen had headed in the solitary first half goal. Rooney was one of the four substitutes to come on in the second half as the Red Devils went on to score six more goals.

Rooney's hat-trick came within 21 minutes, while young Mame Briam Diouf was one of the scorers along with Gabreil Obertan and Park Ji-Sung.

Frederico Macheda and Owen both performed impressively, but Rooney seems to have hit the ground running in pre-season.

Here are the highlights of the match.
