Producers are scrambling to decide how to proceed with a coming film starring Mark Salling after the former "Glee" actor's arrest Tuesday. California police have charged the 33-year-old star with possession of child pornography.

TMZ reports that people working closely on "Adi Shankar's Gods and Secrets" are talking about cutting Salling from the film or recasting his role. The 2016 action movie, according to IMDb, concerns what might happen if the world were filled with superheroes. TMZ says the filmmakers have not made a decision on Salling's part as they are trying to "wait and see" what further investigation into the case reveals. They plan to release a statement Wednesday.

As International Business Times previously reported, Salling was arrested in Los Angeles on Tuesday. According to early reports, the Los Angeles Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Unit issued a warrant to search Salling's Sunland, California, home on the morning of his arrest. Salling's ex-girlfriend is said to have tipped off the police. Authorities are said to have "found hundreds of images" of young children on his computer. It was later reported that the minors in the photos appeared to be well under 15 and 16 years old.
