U.S. stocks ended higher on Monday after another round of solid economic reports, but pulled off session highs as investors sold some bank shares following a Fed official's warning about banks' potential losses on commercial real estate loans.

Based on the latest available data, the Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> rose 76.71 points, or 0.79 percent, to unofficially end at 9,789.44. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> gained 6.69 points, or 0.65 percent, to finish unofficially at 1,042.88. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> added 4.09 points, or 0.20 percent, to close unofficially at 2,049.20.
