U.S. stocks added to losses on Wednesday after the Institute for Supply Management's non-manufacturing index came in weaker than expected.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 74.96 points, or 0.59 percent, at 12,732.55. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> fell 8.75 points, or 0.64 percent, at 1,347.87. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> slipped 6.72 points, or 0.24 percent, at 2,834.90.

Wall St had been little changed as a fresh round of proposed acquisitions offset a report on the labor market that was also below consensus expectations.
