On Thursday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out together for a reception in London. For the first time, Markle didn't wear pink and opted to wear a canary yellow sheath dress by Brandon Maxwell. She tied her hair back in a sleek updo and paired her getup with nude pumps.

In Markle's past engagements she had been wearing pink. According to a color psychology practitioner, the shade has "calming effect on the wearer" and it could be the reason the new duchess prefers pink outfits.

"The number of high profile engagements Meghan has had since officially becoming a member of the royal family would no doubt be quite nerve-wracking," Karen Haller said. "As the softer end of the pink spectrum is physically soothing, it's the perfect antidote to calming those nerves and easing the pulse rate."

Meanwhile, last week Prince Harry and Markle joined Queen Elizabeth II for the Queen's Young Leaders Awards ceremony. According to reports, the former "Suits" star attempted to hold her husband's hands. However, the duke ignored her effort and brought his arms together, instead. This triggered the report that they have already stopped holding hands.

"Prince Harry has probably felt less of a need to hold Meghan's hand as she seems to be much more confident and secure in her new role, and so needs less emotional and physical support from her now-husband," William Hanson told Femail.

"Public displays of affection, such a hand holding, may be accepted in private situations and in social spheres, but when out in public Harry and Meghan are on official business and so it is not considered professional behaviour," the expert continued.

Meanwhile, according to People, Prince Harry declined to hold hands because he "knows the drills when his grandmother, the Queen is around." On the other hand, his wife, Markle, is still learning the ropes as a royal.
