The Meizu MX5 will come out to succeed the Meizu MX4 flagship smartphone of 2014. Speculations are rife that the Meizu MX5 release date is set in September this year. A hands-on video of an actual testing model has been released by Steve Hemmerstoffer from NoWhereElse.Fr. Contrary to the previous rumors that the device will come with bezel-less design, it can be seen with thin bezels and familiar design.

According to Android Headlines, the alleged Meizu MX5 has already undergone certification process in China recently. The MX5 handset in the video sports a metal body and has a physical home button placed below the display. On the right side of the device, are the volume controller and the power/display lock keys.

The Meizu MX4 came with a capacitive home key below the screen. Even though there is no confirmation about the existence of fingerprint sensor in the video, Phone Arena speculates that the physical home button may feature it. As far as the specs of the device are concerned, it is expected to house a 5.5-inch AMOLED display that supports full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The Meizu MX5 is speculated to feature the MediaTek Helio X10 chipset that comprises of a 64-bit octa-core processor, reports Android Headlines. However, Phone Arena claims that the device will be powered by MediaTek MT6753 chipset along with 3 GB of RAM.

The rear side of the device will be flaunting a 20 MP camera. The front-facing selfie camera will be of 5 MP. The MX5 will come with support for 4G LTE connectivity. The device will be running on the latest Android version that will be overlaid with the home-baked Flyme UI.

Android Headlines states that the Meizu MX5’s thickness will be 9.7 mm and it will measure 146 x 74.6 mm. The weight of the device will be 147 g. It will be equipped with a battery of 3,150 mAh capacity.

Rumors indicate that the device will be showcased by Meizu at the end of this month. However, Meizu has neither confirmed on the existence of MX5 nor on the purported device shown in the video
