  • Netizens reacted on the FLOTUS' recent visit to the residential facility for children
  • Melania Trump is set to receive the Woman of Distinction award on Wednesday

Melania Trump has been working very hard to address some of the most glaring issues that children and youth face today. The First Lady of the United States even launched an initiative called “Be Best” in 2018, which concentrates on three pillars including online safety, well-being, and opioid abuse. Despite this, the wife of President Donald Trump continues to receive criticisms from her detractors.

Recently, Melania was mocked again after she shared about her recent visit to The Children’s Inn on Valentine’s Day. “Spending time at @TheChildrensInn with the inspiring & beautiful children of @NIH on #ValentinesDay has become a treasured tradition of mine,” the FLOTUS posted on Twitter, alongside some photos. “It was a wonderful day to share love & kindness with these strong warriors!” she went on.

The said post was met with mixed reactions from fans and critics alike. “When you get home can you ask @realDonaldTrump if he paid off his mistress? (while married to you, @flotus) Thanks, I'll wait for the response. :) @BrianKarem,” one netizen wrote. “Funny, only the white kids are in focus. @FLOTUS why is that? #BeBetterBinch,” Paul Cattrone said. “I feel sorry for Baron. As a teen, I’m sure all of his friends have seen his “classy” mother without her clothes on. Poor kid. A father who has no use for him and a mother who makes his life miserable by staying with a POS who prefers his daughter to her. #ShameOnHer #PoorBaron,” another Twitter user stated.

“This is nice, but all I can think of when I see this are the thousands of other children alone, suffering the irreversible damage being done to them by being separated from their families because of your husband. Then there are the kids kicked off #SNAP benefits & then & so on...” a fourth netizen penned in the comment section. “Leather red dress for kid hospital visit... lord someone dress her correctly #HappyVslentimesDayIvankaAmdDaddy,” another commenter added.

Avid supporters of Melania Trump, however, gave nothing but love and praises to her. “I’ve been a pediatric nurse many years and I admire what you’re doing! They’re very impressionable and this matters more to them than what you can imagine. Thank you @FLOTUS,” one netizen shared. “Thanks for loving our kids, Melania And Happy Valentines Day #KAG,” Pat Edwards said. “How noble of you, First Lady Melania. Yes, these children are warriors; The healthy do not know what a battle the afflicted, like my daughter Amity, go through to survive and salvage meaning from suffering and perseverance. God bless you, Madam,” Sean Lawlor Nelson stated.

Melania Trump has yet to comment on the harsh remarks.

Meanwhile, Melania is set to receive the Woman of Distinction award Wednesday at a luncheon at The Breakers Hotel. Palm Beach Atlantic University made the announcement early this year.

“Our first lady is an exquisite human being, a magnificent wife and life partner, a superb mother and an outstanding first lady, who represents us brilliantly in the United States and worldwide,” Mar-a-Lago member and event co-chair Eileen Burns said in a statement released in January. “Melania is a perfect example of a Woman of Distinction and we are most proud to honor her,” she went on.
