Melanie Oudin ousted by Wozniacki in U.S. Open quarterfinals
Melanie Oudin was defeated in two sets by 9th seeded Caroline Wozniacki 6-2, 6-2 in the U.S. Open's quarterfinals Wednesday evening.
The 17-year old American player achieved to get the crowd involved into the match, but despite her vigorous performance she was not able to beat her powerful 19-year old opponent from Denmark losing 14 of the first 18 points on today's match.
Oudin had previously ousted Maria Sharapova and Elena Dementieva, three-time major champion and Beijing Olympic gold medalist respectively.
Wozniacki entered the Grand Slam semifinals for the first time.
