Meredith Vieira is apparently no stranger to profanity. The television host and journalist was guest- hosting “Today” Thursday morning when she suddenly shouted “Oh s—t!” when returning to the air from a commercial break.

Meredith Vieira was filling in for Kathie Lee Gifford on “Today” during the show’s fourth hour. When “Today” returned from a commercial, Vieira dropped one of her cue cards, prompting her to blurt out “Oh s—t!” before covering her mouth. Hoda Kotb, her co-host, tried to keep the segment moving along, but with Vieira laughing and Al Roker shouting “Yes!” it was hard to ignore the blunder.

Kotb made the best of it, quipping, “Go ahead, put it on Gawker already,” while Vieira apologized profusely. A producer added a “beep” as Kotb bent over to pick up the dropped card, to which Kotb said, “You’re a little late for the beep.” Roker continued to laugh at the situation and said, “We’ve missed you so.” Vieira had hosted “Today” for five years, from 2006 until 2011.

A quick trip to YouTube reveals other instances of Vieira cursing on live television on “Today.” One is from five years ago, when Vieira, while joking around with producers and others off camera, accidentally dropped the “f-bomb” on live television.

The second incident came when Vieira was behind the wheel of a driving simulation and was prompted to read a text message out loud. It made her swerve and she crashed into a car in front of her, causing her to yell “Oh sh—t!” before covering her mouth.

A video of Thursday's incident has already been uploaded to YouTube and can be viewed below or here.
