San Francisco police are investigating Michael Crabtree for an alleged sexual assault that took place after the 49ers’ victory over the Green Bay Packers last Saturday.

Crabtree has not been detained and is expected to play in the NFC Championship game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Detectives from San Francisco’s Special Victims Unit interviewed Crabtree with his lawyer present. The 25-year-old wide receiver also agreed to cooperate for further questioning, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

“The 49ers take such matters very seriously,” general manager Trent Baalke said in a statement. “We will have no further comment at this time as the legal process is ongoing.”

The alleged attack occurred on early Sunday morning after the 49ers beat the Packers, a game in which Crabtree had nine receptions for 119 yards and two touchdowns.
