Never heard before tapes of intimate conversations with Michael Jackson were unveiled Friday night on NBC's Dateline.

The interview reveals a side of Jackson that has not been publicly known: He didn't care to live if it weren't for children, He felt a lack of love and loneliness; He believed Madonna was jealous of his career and He was in love with Brooke Shields.

I'm going to say something I've never said it before, uh, um, and this is the truth. I-- I have no reason to lie to you. God knows I'm telling the truth. I think all my success and fame --and I've wanted it. I've wanted it. Because I wanted to be loved. That's all, Jackson says in one of the tapes, according to a full transcript released by MSNBC.

The interview was recorded with the permission of Jackson by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, who became his friend from 1999 to 2001.

The tapes are being released along with the book The Michael Jackson Tapes.
