Paris Jackson, the daughter of legendary singer Michael Jackson, got a tattoo to honor her late father Monday. The teenager showed off her new body art on social media, posting images of it to Instagram and Twitter.

“Never forget your roots. Always be proud of where you came from,” she tweeted. The picture framed the King of Pop’s eyes in a delicate frame. Animals like elephants and peacocks are featured. At the top was a picture of monkey, presumably in honor of Jackson’s pet, Bubbles.

On Instagram, Paris shared the same photo and caption, but also added a quote that is credited to her famous father: "The meaning of life is contained in every single expression of life. It is present in the infinity of forms and phenomena that exists in all of creation."

But Paris’ grandmother, Katherine, probably doesn’t appreciate the tattoo. "Katherine absolutely detests this style of dress," a source told Radar Online about Paris’ look May 14. "She is not into tattoos or piercings at all." The insider also reportedly said: "Paris is completely going against her family's religious beliefs by getting these tattoos and piercings.”

But the 18-year-old may not care about what her family thinks. She certainly doesn’t care about what naysayers have to say. Paris is active on social media, and slammed internet trolls back in February.

"It's so selfish that I am literally attacked on every f--king thing I post just because people that I DON'T EVEN KNOW aren't getting what they want...I appreciate the love and support, but the expectations are f--king ridiculous," she wrote. "The expectations for my DAD were f--king ridiculous. He didn't owe you anything, yet he was ripped to shreds DAILY. I will not let that happen to me."
