Microsoft fans planning to purchase the Lumia 950 XL are in for a surprise as the tech giant is gearing up to offer free goodies.

Interested buyers can get a free Continuum Display Dock upon purchasing the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL smartphone from the official store. The price of the Display Dock is reportedly $99, Phone Arena reported. This gadget can be used to connect the new Lumia handset to a monitor and a keyboard, in order to turn the phone into a PC. However, it is worth noting that this offer pertains only to the customers in the U.S. and Canada, according to Windows Central.

In the U.S., the jumbo device Lumia 950 XL can be availed only from the Microsoft Store as no other carrier is offering this variant. However, the flagship Lumia 950 can be purchased from carriers in the U.S.

In order to avail the free Continuum Display Dock, a customer has to purchase the Lumia 950 XL and the device has to be registered with Microsoft between Nov. 25 and Jan. 31, 2016. After registration, a promotional code will apparently be sent to the customer. This code can be used on the Lumia Offers app in the Microsoft Store to avail the free gadget. However, potential buyers should note that the disk should be availed before Feb. 29, 2016.

When it comes to price, Microsoft Store said the Lumia 950 XL will set the buyers back by $649. The exact release date has not been specified, however, the site says "coming soon." Readers can pre-register for the Lumia handset by clicking the “Email me when available” link on the Website. Once the device becomes available, Microsoft will notify the potential buyer.
