Charlie Kindel, a Microsoft veteran who was with the company for 21 years and helped the company develop the Windows Mobile platform, has announced his resignation to start a new venture.

Among the projects Kindel worked on with Microsoft, are Windows Phone 7, Windows 2.0, 3.0 SDK and DDK Support, and Windows Home Server.

In a blog entry, Charlie Kindel wrote about working with Microsoft and thanking his family for the support all these years.

Kindel's new work will be based out of Seattle, Wash. his home city, and already a number of projects have caught his interest.
