Freida Pinto and Brooke Burke will guest star in Season 4 of “The Mindy Project,” reports indicate. They will appear as themselves and not be playing any character.
EntertainmentWeekly reported the premiere episode of Season 4 will show Pinto dating Danny Castellano [Chris Messina]. This particular episode is said to be inspired by the 1998 movie “Sliding Doors” and will show an alternate version in the TV series where Mindy Lahiri [Mindy Kaling] is married to another man.
Pinto is known for her role as Latika in the movie “Slumdog Millionaire” and also has been in movies like “You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger,” “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” and “Immortals.” The actress will next be seen in the 2015 movie “Yamasong: March of the Hollows” and she is also a part of the 2017 movie “Jungle Book: Origins.”
According to a report by EOnline, “Dancing with the Stars” co-host Burke will be playing herself in “The Mindy Project” Season 4. Some of the other cast members who will be seen on the show include Mark Duplass [Brendan Deslaurier] and Jay Duplass [Duncan]. Kaling is said to have confirmed Ed Weeks [Jeremy Reed] also will be returning to the TV series.
The report confirms the premiere episode of the show will be an alternate reality in which Gordon-Levitt will play the role of Mindy’s husband. The episode will air on Hulu after Fox canceled the show earlier. Hulu is said to have ordered 26 episodes of the TV series.
Craig Erwich, senior vice president and head of content at Hulu, called Mindy a “beloved member of the Hulu family” and revealed many of her fans are already catching up on the TV series on their streaming service.
