Five people including the gunman were killed and four others injured after a man opened fire at a Minneapolis business house Thursday evening, police said.

The police had initially said several people were feared dead and four wounded in the shooting.

At least four people, three with critical injuries, were treated at the Hennepin County Medical Center and police forces confirmed that the shooter was found dead with a self-inflicted wound inside the Accent Signage Systems building, where the shooting happened.

“"When officers arrived and entered the business to assist with the evacuation of employees, give aid to the victims and to search for the suspect, they found four victims dead from apparent gunshot wounds," according to a statement from the police spokesman Sgt. Stephen McCarty, the Associated Press reported.

Authorities refused to release the details of the victims, saying the police were still investigating.

“We heard about four to five gunshots,” said Marques Jones, 18, of Minneapolis who was outside the building during the shooting and heard the gunshots. “We were shocked at what happened, and we just looked at each other. We all just took off running to our vehicles,” he added, according to an AP report.
