A magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck the San Francisco Bay area on Thursday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The minor quake's epicenter was near Berkeley, California, and it was felt in San Francisco. Police in Berkeley said there were no reports of damage.
