Miriam "Mae Mae" Burbank’s daughters say their mother had a vivacious spirit that everyone adored. So when it came time to plan her funeral, they decided to take an unconventional approach.

Rather than inside a casket, Burbank’s body was placed sitting in a chair near a circular table full of items that the woman loved, WGNO reported. She held a menthol cigarette in one hand and a glass of Busch beer in the other. She also had a case of Busch beside her and a disco ball above the table.

Burbank’s daughters told the news program that their other family members appeared to like the unique setup.

The ladies organized the entire living room-like funeral setting with the help of the directors of Charbonnet Funeral Home.
