“Mom” Season 5 has come up with another way of addressing Jaime Pressly’s Jill Kendall’s struggles with her addiction.

In the series, Jill has been written as a sober mom who is dealing with her addiction in different ways. In real life, Pressly revealed that she’s expecting twins, but her pregnancy couldn’t be written into the hit CBS sitcom. Instead, the creators of “Mom” have decided to keep her pregnancy hidden by putting the actress in a fat suit.

“The idea being that addiction doesn’t always stay in one place… If you are dealing with addiction it may pop in other places. We dealt with Christy (Anna Faris) having a gambling problem. So Jill is going through some things and the way she deals with it is food,” executive producer Gemma Baker told Entertainment Weekly.

Pressly’s first photo as a stockier Jill has also been released via the publication. The actress is wearing a fuchsia blouse and military green cardigan and trousers. She also has an orange birkin bag in tow. She reunites with her friends with a huge smile on her face.

While speaking with the publication, Pressly also explained how Jill gaining so much weight within a short period of time will make sense. Last season, Jill had a miscarriage and decided to adopt a foster child to help fill the void. However, she also found out that the foster child may be taken away from her so she ended up eating excessively.

“I never figured I would hide behind tables because that never works, and executive producer Chuck Lorre is not known for being that cheesy. I knew they would come up with something fantastic,” she said.

Meanwhile, Pressly will be featured in seven episodes of “Mom” Season 5 before going on maternity leave in November. She will return to the set in January after giving birth to her twin boys. “Oh, I am ready. I turned 30 after Desi was born. Ten years later, I’m much older and wiser and calmer. It’s a totally different experience and a great one for my son, who is so excited about it,” she said.

“Mom” Season 5 will premiere on CBS on Nov. 2 at 9 p.m. EDT.
