The Motorola Droid Turbo 2 has been announced with monstrous specs. In this year, several phablets have been launched such as the Galaxy Note 5, the iPhone 6S Plus, the LG G4, the Sony Xperia Z5, and so on. The Droid Turbo 2 that will be exclusively available through Verizon in the U.S. will be taking up fight against the popular phablets of 2015.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 that was announced in August this year is one of the best phablets Samsung has manufactured and it is one of most desired smartphones of 2015. Here is a comparison between the Galaxy Note 5 and the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 on the basis of specifications, features and price.

Design and Display

The dimensions of the Motorola Droid Turbo are 149.5 x 78 x 9.2 mm and its weight is 169 grams. It comes with an evident metallic frame and the appeal of its chassis can be customized using the Moto Maker tool. Another notable feature of its chassis is that it does not get damaged from water splashes.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 measures 153.2 x 76.1 x 7.6 mm and it weighs 171 grams. It comes with a premium chassis made up of glass and metal.

The Droid Turbo 2 features a 5.4-inch display whereas the display present on the Galaxy Note 5 is of 5.7-inch. Both the displays support Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The Galaxy Note 5’s screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 whereas the manufacturers at Motorola have included a shatterproof screen on the Droid Turbo 2.

The Verizon Droid Turbo 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 810 chipset that includes a 64-bit octa-core CPU that works at a processing speed of 2 GHz. It is supported by 3 GB of RAM. The device comes in multiple storage options of 32 GB and 64 GB. Moreover, there is an external storage on the device that supports up to 2 TB of microSD card.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 features the Exynos 7420 chipset that also includes a 64-bit octa-core processor that produces a processing speed of 2.1 GHz. The Exynos chip is supported by 4 GB of RAM. It also comes in native storage options of 32 GB and 64 GB. There is no microSD card slot on the Galaxy Note 5.

Camera And Additional Features

The 21-megapixel camera present on the rear panel of the handset features a dual-LED flash but lacks OIS. The frontal camera of 5-megapixel is available with a front-facing flash. The device comes preloaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

On the rear panel of the Galaxy Note 5, there is a 16-megapixel camera that features OIS and dual-LED flash. On its front panel, there is a 5-megapixel camera. It also features Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The Galaxy Note 5 comes with an intuitive stylus called S-Pen and a fingerprint sensor. Such features are unavailable on the Droid Turbo 2.

Battery And Price

The Verizon Droid Turbo 2 is equipped with an enormous battery of 3,760 mAh battery. It can deliver a battery life of 48 hours. It supports both wireless charging as well as fast charging. On the Note 5, Samsung has included a battery of 3,000 mAh capacity.

The off-contract pricing of the Galaxy Note 5 across different U.S. carriers is $700-$740 for the 32 GB variant and $779-$839 for the 64 GB model. On the other side, the Motorola Droid Turbo 2 is available with an off-contract pricing of $624 for the 32 GB model and $720 for the 64 GB variant.
