U.S.-based iconic technology brand Motorola is just hours away from unveiling its newest Droid RAZR smartphone.

The countdown clock that was previous placed on the Motorola Web site is currently ticking down with less than seven hours to go. The upcoming device, as expected, will be called RAZR and will be the next smartphone after the introduction of the Motorola Droid Bionic.

The new device is set for a U.S. revelation Tuesday and later for a European event scheduled for on Wednesday in Germany. Thought the device is set to be called RAZR, a codename - Spyder, has been provided to distinguish the device from one continent to another, according to an Inquirer report.

Little is known about the device as yet, and nothing can be said for certain. The RAZR is rumored to be a 4.5 or 4.3-inch smartphone that will run on Android 2.3 or Gingerbread.

It is also expected to feature an 8 MP, 3,264-by-2,448 pixel autofocus, LED flash camera and powered by a 1 or 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, TI OMAP4430 chipset.

NFC may or may not be available.
