Naomi Watts has opened up about her life after breaking up with Liev Schreiber.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph Australia, the actress admitted that “change is always scary” but maintains that she is in a good place in her life. “I feel I’m in a good place in my life and I want to make sure my kids are healthy, my kids are happy and things are going to go well,” Watts said. “Those are my hopes for me and for all of us.”

The actress added that she knows how transitioning from one thing to another can be scary for anyone, but she knows it’s a process that people need to go through in order to grow.

Despite the breakup, Watts said she will continue to be supportive of her ex. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the “Divergent” star said it is important that she continues to support Schreiber because he is the father of her children. Aside from that, Watts also said that the actor is an “extraordinary talent” and those are the kinds of people that are worth supporting.

Watts and Schreiber announced their split after 11 years together in September. In a joint statement obtained by E! News, the former couple said: “Over the past few months we’ve come to the conclusion that the best way for us as a family is to separate as a couple. It is with great love, respect, and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship.”

The two started dating in 2005. Schreiber pranked reporters in 2007 by saying he and Watts were already married. While they didn’t tie the knot, they created their own family. They share two sons: Alexander and Sammy.

Schreiber has yet to comment on the breakup.
