A late selloff pushed U.S. stocks to session lows at the close on Monday, dragged lower by declines in technology and other sectors, with the Nasdaq ending a eight-day winning streak.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> gained 18.24 points, or 0.16 percent, to 11,428.56. The Standard & Poor's 500 <.SPX> edged up 0.06 point to 1,240.46. The Nasdaq Composite <.IXIC> dropped 12.63 points, or 0.48 percent, to 2,624.91.
