  • The Miami Heat need Goran Dragic to step up and recall his old form
  • Dragic could be vital in the NBA playoffs for the Heat
  • Dragic could see his career end sourly if he continues to struggle

The Miami Heat could use some help on the experience side of things right now, something that Goran Dragic could provide.

Having been through the usual wear-and-tear of his NBA tenure, most feel that the Slovenian hotshot is in the final years of his basketball career.

But if one is to look at his performance last year, Dragic can step it up if he wants to. With recruit Victor Oladipo sidelined once more, the 34-year-old guard may need to get things back to help the Heat’s 2020-21 NBA campaign.

Based on his previous performances, it may take some time.

In his last game for the Heat against the Phoenix Suns, he was hardly a shell of the player that most know him to be.

He finished with 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists in 28 minutes of action. Those were near his averages, but his performance was noticeably off-sync.

But the good news is that there is still time for the 2014 NBA Most Improved Player to recall his old form.

Most hardly noticed him last NBA season until he made that big turnaround towards the postseason. The only problem there is that he fell to an injury, something that could be hindering him from playing his usual role.

The Heat are now at the seventh spot of the NBA Eastern Conference with a 28-27 mark. They are half a game ahead of the Charlotte Hornets and behind the New York Knicks.

With most of Erik Spoelstra’s players coming off the bench struggling, someone like Dragic could add to the lack of scoring sock.

There is still time for Dragic, and the Heat need all the able bodies to support Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.

Young players like Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson and Kendrick Nunn are doing their best to help. But getting a veteran like Dragic back on track would be more beneficial.
