Actress Ashley Judd, a noted Kentucky Wildcats super fan, accidentally took Kentucky forward Terrence Jones' phone after the Wildcats defeated Iowa State on Saturday.

Judd, the star of Kiss the Girls and Double Jeopardy, apparently was in the Kentucky locker room after the game and somehow grabbed Jones' phone before leaving. She didn't realize that she had taken until after she was well far away from Louisville, where the game was played, and someone had to meet her in Elizabethtown to pick up the phone.

Jones seemed to be a good sport about it, tweeting out If your (sic) trying to reach me on my phone you cant because @AshleyJudd took my phone to e town.

Judd felt bad about the mishap and wrote Jones a handwritten apology letter.

So sorry pal that I grabbed your phone! Judd wrote. I apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for another beautiful game. Take good care, enjoy your week. See you in Cat-lanta.

It's certainly one of the weirdest sports stories in quite some time, but it's good to know that Jones was able to get his phone back. How Judd accidentally ended up with it in her bag will probably always remain a mystery, though.

Kentucky will take on Indiana in the Sweet 16 in Atlanta on Thursday at 9:45 p.m. The two teams met earlier in the year; a game that the Hoosiers won 73-72. Kentucky coach John Calipari mentioned that constant highlights of Indiana's win over his team has served as a point of motivation.
