A new Bollywood film is aiming to lash out at the attitude of sensationalizing news by the Indian media and present the negative impact it can have on the lives of people.

Showbiz, being produced by a top Bollywood production house Vishesh films, narrates the story of a youth who comes to India's entertainment hub of Mumbai to try his luck on a reality television show.

The film shows him being catapulted to stardom by the media and then his sudden downfall.

The film shows how media can make or break a person and how a person's life can only become money game for the media, said actress Mrinalini Sharma, who plays the role of a television channel head.

Sometimes due to pressure, media is forced to create news without being sensitive. Showbiz shows what effect such actions can have over a person.

Shooting for Showbiz is almost over, Sharma said. The film is scheduled to be released by the end of 2007.
