The official trailer for Microsoft's Halo 4, one of the most anticipated games of the upcoming year, debuted during game two of the NBA Finals last night.

Fans of the Franchise were treated to a one minute live action commercial that indicates that the world has regained a semblance of peace since Master Chief played a pivotal role in ending the war against the Covenant and dealing with the Flood.

The Federation is recommissioning a battleship, re purposed for scientific discovery, in a Star Trek twist. However, as the stirring speech is being made we see the ship attacked by a strange energy weapon.

It begins to crash into a planet where Master Chief awaits it.

Microsoft chose to premier this commercial during the NBA Finals in an attempt to capture some of the roughly 20 million viewers that game two got Thursday night.

The Halo franchise began more than a decade ago with the release of Halo: Combat Evolved, spawning multiple video games, card games, books, and a rumored full length motion picture.

Halo 4 will diverge from the plot of the first three games where the main antagonists were the Covenant and the Flood. Microsoft announced as much at E3 when they explained that Halo 4 is the first part of a new trilogy of games known as the Reclaimer Trilogy.

AS for who and what the Reclaimers are, that is anyone's guess right now. The game releases worldwide on November 6, 2012 and fans will find out then what new direction the story will take them.
