Samsung, whose Galaxy S smartphones made a statement with sales of over 10 million around the world, has released a teaser video showing the next generation Samsung Galaxy S2 expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011.

The poster preview of the next Galaxy S smartphone says “Something big is coming” on Feb. 13. And with a tag line “Evolution is Fate” in the preview teaser, the smartphone giant plans to reveal something new in the days to come.

Samsung has managed to captivate the masses with its Galaxy S line smartphones which boosted sales in 2010. The new Galaxy S2 smartphone, which will definitely feature the AMOLED plus screen display, is a mobile technology that must be looked out for in the year 2011.

If the specifications cited are true, the new Samsung Galaxy S2 is expected to feature 1 GB RAM memory which will let the handset share the first position along with the latest Motorola Atrix 4G which features 1 GB RAM. Other smartphones closer to Atrix are HTC ThunerBolt 4G and HTC Inspire 4G which feature 768 MB RAM.

Apart from a lot of memory, the smartphone from Samsung is rumored to feature an 8-megapixel camera. Devices like Droid Bionic, HTC Thunderbolt and HTC Inspire all feature an 8-megapixel camera.

Unlike previous Galaxy S smartphones that feature the Android 2.2 operating system, the Galaxy S2, which is code-named as Seine (although actual release may differ), comes with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. This should make Galaxy S2 the first smartphone to feature an Android 2.3 version as other latest smartphones in the market have Android 2.2 version.

And the new smartphone has a dual core Samsung Orion 1GHz processor (low power dual core ARM Cortex A9 application processor), the same processor expected to power the upcoming second generation Samsung Galaxy Tab tablets. The new processor is the successor of Samsung Hummingbird ARM Cortex A8 processor found in previous versions of Galaxy S smartphones. The Orion processor is expected to support data intensive multimedia applications including full HD video playback and high speed 3D action games. The newer processor means “superb multimedia performance, fast CPU processing speed, and abundant memory bandwidth.”

Galaxy S2 can capture 1080p videos similar to Droid Bionic and Samsung Infuse 4G and is expected to come with the Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n connectivity, HSPA, Bluetooth 3.0 support, GPS and DLNA support found in almost all the latest smartphones.

The first generation Galaxy S smartphones had 4-inch 480x800 AMOLED display, but the new Galaxy S2 is expected to feature 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with 1280×720 pixels.

Samsung Galaxy S2 also supports 4G and will be available through T-Mobile network which recently revealed about 21 Mbps speed in its network.

The smartphone is 9mm thick, making the new Galaxy S2 thinner than the first generation. Engadget caught a photo shot of the Galaxy S2 smartphone in the teaser video.
