The first month of the 2013 NFL is set to come to a close this weekend. The slate of games is expected to be fairly competitive with just two contests having a betting line of seven points or more.

Week Four is scheduled to get underway with an NFC West matchup. The San Francisco 49ers have surprised many by losing two of their first three games, and they’ll look to get back to .500 when they visit the 1-2 St. Louis Rams on Thursday night. The defending division champs are favored by a field goal.

An unusual amount of road teams are expected to win in Week Four. In 15 of the games, eight of the home teams have been made underdogs. The Indianapolis Colts are the biggest road-favorites of the week. They’re giving the 0-3 Jacksonville Jaguars 8.5 points. Jacksonville has proven to be the worst of the winless teams, losing by an average of 21 points per contest.

Five other teams will be looking to get their first win of 2013, one of which is guaranteed to end Sunday at 1-3. The Pittsburgh Steelers will visit the Minnesota Vikings in a battle of winless teams. In Oakland, Robert Griffin III and the 0-3 Washington Redskins will visit the 1-2 Raiders. In both games, the road team is favored.

Following another blowout victory, the Denver Broncos are the favorites of Week Four. Peyton Manning and the No.1 offense in the NFL are giving the visiting Philadelphia Eagles 11 points. The Broncos are averaging 10 more points per game than the Green Bay Packers, who are second in football in scoring.

Sunday Night Football features one of the premiere matchups of the week. The New England Patriots are underdogs for the first time, as they visit the Atlanta Falcons. The 1.5-point spread is the second-lowest of the week.

Two undefeated teams will close out the week on Monday night. The betting line has the New Orleans Saints spotting the visiting Miami Dolphins more than a touchdown. Despite starting off at 3-0 and beating the likes of the Colts and Falcons, the Dolphins have been underdogs in 75 percent of their games.

For the first time all season, not every team has a game on the schedule. The Green Bay Packers and Carolina Panthers have the first byes of 2013.
