After a seminal performance from rookie Doug Martin the Tampa Bay Buccaneers find themselves in the thick of the playoff chase as they host the San Diego Chargers Sunday afternoon at Raymond James Stadium.

Martin torched the Oakland Raiders for 252 rushing yards and four touchdowns, all in the second half, as Tampa Bay won 42-52.

Quarterback Josh Freeman would throw another two touchdowns, and the Buccaneers defense forced Oakland’s Carson Palmer to toss three interceptions in the second half.

Winners of three of their last four games, Tampa Bay has scored 131 points in that stretch and are one game out of a wild card spot.

The Chargers are in the same position in the weak AFC despite losing three of their last four games.

Lucky enough for San Diego they faced the lowly Kansas City Chiefs last week and won 31-13, thanks to two defensive touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

It was their second win over the Chiefs this year, and quarterback Phillip Rivers shook off a poor showing against Cleveland in Week 8 to throw two touchdowns.

Rivers could best that performance against a Tampa Bay secondary allowing an NFL-high 321.1 passing yards per game.

San Diego also holds the series edge, going 8-1 against the Buccaneers and a 5-0 mark on the road, according to the Associated Press.

The game begins at 1 p.m. EDT and will be shown by CBS, or watch a live stream online by purchasing NFL Sunday Ticket Max.
