The 2012 NHL All-Star game gets underway at 4 p.m. EST in Ottawa on Sunday on NBC Sports.

Fans can watch the broadcast on NBC Sports, NBCSports.com, CBC, CBC.ca/Sports, and NHL.com (audio broadcast only).

This year's all-star game is the second straight year that the NHL used a fantasy draft to determine the two teams. Ottawa Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson and Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara are the two captains and drafted their teams during a live broadcast on Thursday.

Most gave Chara the edge after an impressive draft, but it was Team Alfredsson that dominated the skills competition on Saturday. Team Alfredsson won the competition 21-12, but Team Chara will surely be looking for some revenge during the actual all-star game.

The game - like most all-star competitions - should be a fun, high-scoring affair. It gives fans a good opportunity to see their favorite players team up with some of their most hated rivals.

The game has lost a bit of its star appeal with Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby both skipping the all-star affair in Ottawa, but should still be an entertaining game for hockey's truest fans.
