Fans have been going crazy over rumors that Nina Dobrev and Austin Stowell have been dating. But the latest news reveals the two are just hanging out together, though Stowell reportedly wants to be more than friends with the former star of "The Vampire Diaries."

A source told Hollywood Life exclusively on Tuesday that there’s nothing going on with Dobrev and Stowell. “They are having fun hanging out and he is more into her than she is into him. She really is interested in just being friends and hyper-focused on her career.”

The revelation came just days after news broke that Dobrev was seen allegedly kissing the "Whiplash" actor during the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, the Latin Post reported. Fans have been speculating that the two have been dating ever since Dobrev posted photobooth pictures of herself with Stowell on May 11. Though a few friends were also included in the picture, Dobrev and Stowell looked very comfortable hanging out with each other.

Hollwood Life’s source further states: “She is a tomboy and loves hanging out with guys -- it’s less drama. But she isn’t stupid, either. She knows that the drama starts when feelings get involved, so she has warned Austin that she isn’t romantically interested right now. But in Austin’s case, he really isn’t listening to that and wants more. Austin believes his persistence and quest for something more will win out.”

Dobrev’s last relationship was with her ‘Vampire Diaries’ co-star, Ian Somerhalder. The two broke up in 2013 and there hasn’t been any dating news for the actress since then.

Somerhalder married "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed in April. In an interview with E! News earlier this month, Dobrev revealed how happy she is for Somerhalder and Reed: "They look happy and I am happy and so I don't see why there should be a problem with that. The drama is in the media, it's not with us. But of course, we're on a teen drama show, everyone's going to look for drama. If there's no drama, there's nothing to write about. I just ignore it."
