Stefan and Elena reunited this weekend — well, at least the actors who played them did. “Vampire Diaries” alums Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley had a little reunion in New York.

Dobrev shared a photo Sunday that showed her and her former “TVD” love interest together. The two were all smiles as they took a selfie. “NYC when it’s snowing is full of serendipitous run ins and magical reunions. Like this one,” Dobrev wrote along with the hashtag #TVDForever.

The actors spent several years on The CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” together. Wesley played Stefan, Elena’s first vampire love. Though Dobrev left the series at the end of Season 6, Wesley stayed for the entirety of the drama’s eight-year run. The actors reunited onscreen in the series finale earlier this year, which Dobrev made a special appearance in.

Fans immediately started reacting to the new photo. Several commented that it was the ending they never got to see on The CW show. When “The Vampire Diaries” ended, Stefan sacrificed himself to save everyone else. Ultimately, Elena ended up with his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder).

Though the finale aired in March, it seems many fans still aren’t over how the series wrapped up. The Stelena shippers were out in full force after Dobrev posted.

Dobrev seems to keep in touch with several alums from the long running show. In August, she had another mini reunion. Kat Graham and Kayla Ewell, who played Bonnie Bennett and Vicki Donovan, both attended Dobrev’s party celebrating a magazine cover in August. Ewell also joined Dobrev for a workout session last week.

Both Dobrev and Wesley have been working since wrapping “The Vampire Diaries.” Wesley is currently filming “Fabled,” a TV movie directed by “Once Upon a Time” alum Jennifer Morrison. The actor also recently stepped behind the camera to direct an episode of “Shadowhunters” and a short film called “Isabel.”

Dobrev, meanwhile, has been keeping busy with big screen projects. She filmed the thriller “Lucky Day” earlier this year, for which she cut her hair into a chic bob. She starred alongside Finn Wolfhard and Eva Longoria in the drama “Dog Days,” due out next year. She also has “Departures,” a dramedy co-starring Maisie Williams and Asa Butterfield, out next year. Clearly, 2018 is going to be busy for Dobrev.
