Nina Dobrev Spends Thanksgiving Weekend With Friends Amid Rumored ‘Vampire Diaries’ Return

Actress Nina Dobrev seems to have a lot to be thankful for on Thanksgiving. The 27-year-old former “Vampire Diaries” star spent the long holiday weekend with her friends, and she shared the highlights of the getaway to her millions of fans on social media.

On Sunday, Dobrev took to Instagram to share snaps of her vacation in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. In one photo, Dobrev rocks a skimpy two-piece while posing for the camera with her gang of friends. According to her, she and her friends were enjoying “Sunday Funday #CaboGobble Style.”

Several hours earlier, Dobrev shared a clip of herself emerging from the water on water-jet flyboards. For a couple of moments in the video, Dobrev maintains her balance while suspended mid-air, ending the unique experience with a back dive into the water. The “xXx: Return of Xander Cage” star wittily captioned the clip with “Found my sea legs.”

Dobrev may have been very proud of the stunt she pulled because she also shared a photo of her back dive on Instagram. She even admitted in the caption that it was her first time to try flyboarding.

Dobrev’s friends also shared photos of their Cabo trip on social media. In a picture Dobrev shared two days ago, she revealed that she and her pals celebrated Thanksgiving by sharing a feast together. “Friends are the family you choose,” the caption reads.

Other activities they enjoyed in their Cabo trip included jet-skiing, banana boat-riding and dining at The Giggling Marlin on the Marina Bulevard, according to Hollywood Life. Days before the trip, Dobrev attended the 2016 American Music Awards where she, along with Drake, presented the award for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album. Their appearance also got fans excited for their mini “Degrassi” reunion.

Meanwhile, rumors of Dobrev’s possible return to “The Vampire Diaries” are still going around. Executive producer Julie Plec told Entertainment Weekly that the similarities between Georgie’s and Katherine’s demise on the show are not all accidental. Because of this, many fans are speculating that Dobrev could return to the series as Katherine.

Though this is not as good news as fans of Damon and Elena’s love story hoped it to be, Pop Sugar reports Katherine’s possible return makes more sense, knowing how awkward it would be for Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder to reunite as lovers after Dobrev’s exit in season six.
