No tax increase for middle class: Obama
The Obama administration confirmed on Monday it won't raise taxes for middle-income citizens despite the struggling economy.
Speculation that raising taxes for this part of the population rose when top economic advisers said that the administration needed ways to bring deficits under control leaving open the possibility to seek income from a tax increase to that segment.
The president's clear commitment is not to raise taxes on those making less than $250,000 a year, Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary told reporters.
