U.S. stocks fell on Thursday, with the Nasdaq trading down more than 1 percent, after Nvidia Corp slashed its second-quarter sales outlook, citing weakness in Europe and China.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> dropped 59.33 points, or 0.57 percent, to 10,438.55. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> dropped 8.56 points, or 0.77 percent, to 1,097.57. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> dropped 25.47 points, or 1.12 percent, to 2,239.09.
