The annual Greenwich Village Halloween Parade swept through New York City Monday night, with more than 50,000 costumed marchers joining dancers, puppets, and bands as thousands of onlookers snapped photos and jumped into the fray.

Occupy Halloween, a contingent from the Occupy Wall Street movement further downtown, promised some excellent corporate zombies and political bloodsuckers. But the standouts of the night spanned the political, the zany and the terrifying, as thousands of participants flowed up Sixth Avenue and spilled into the surrounding streets.

Here are some of the highlights from the NYC Halloween Parade, which began at 7 p.m. and lasted far into the night. Enjoy the shots, and continue to have a Happy Halloween!
