The United States will have plenty of chances to win medals in wrestling at the 2016 Olympics, with 14 competitors in Rio. However, this is Team USA’s smallest wrestling team in 64 years and includes a former gold-medal winner and 10 first-time Olympians.

Jordan Burroughs is the only American wrestler in Rio that has won an Olympic medal, having taken home the gold at the 2012 London Olympics. Aside from his accomplishments at the Olympics, he’s a three-time world champion, and he’s suffered just two losses in international competition.

Burroughs is the favorite in the men’s freestyle 63 kilogram division, but he might not even be Team USA’s best chance of getting a gold medal. Adeline Gray is the heavy favorite in the women’s freestyle 75 kilogram division, having won three world championships herself. According to the betting odds at Paddy Power, it’d come as a big surprise if she doesn’t get a medal at all, considering she’s a 1/6 favorite to place in the top three.

Kyle Snyder is the third American who is favored to win a gold medal. As a 19-year-old last year, the NCAA heavyweight champion became the youngest wrestler in U.S. history to ever win a world title. Jake Varner won gold for the USA in London, but he's not competing in Rio because Snyder defeated him at the Olympic Trials.

Wrestling begins on Sunday and lasts for eight days, with events spanning Days 9-16 in Rio. The final wrestling medals will be awarded just hours before the closing ceremony.
