The episode 2 title of "Once Upon a Time" could be a hint about the "price" Emma Swan's (Jennifer Morrison) loved ones would be willing to pay in order to return her to the light. ABC

“Once Upon a Time” fans better get ready to solve a mystery. Season 5 of the ABC drama is still a couple months away from premiering, but series co-creator Adam Horowitz took to Twitter to release a brand new clue about what’s in store for everyone’s favorite fairytale characters.

On Monday Horowitz posted an image of the front page of the episode 2 script. The photo not only reveals that the episode was written by Andrew Chambliss and Dana Horgan, but that the title is called “The Price.” What could that possibly mean? We’ve got a couple theories based on where “Once Upon a Time” last left off.

Fans already know that the Season 5 premiere is titled “Dark Swan,” which is a reference to Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) getting consumed by darkness in the Season 4 finale. The heroes – including her parents Snow White (Ginnifer Morrison) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) and boyfriend, Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) – have already vowed to do everything in their power to bring her back to the side of good. However, that could potentially come with a “price.”

“Hook loves Emma and he, much like the Charmings, is going to do whatever it takes to try and bring the savior Emma back because that’s who he fell in love with,” O’Donoghue dished at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this month (via ET Online). But “whatever it takes” could put the other fairytale characters at risk. Although Hook is one of the “good guys” now, his efforts to bring back his love could result in him doing some evil again.

Another theory is that Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) could attempt to change Emma’s fate now that he’s become the Author. Viewers would hope that he learned from the old Author’s mistakes, but there is no telling what Henry would or wouldn’t do to help his mom. If he attempted to change anything it would certainly come with a “price.”

Meanwhile, fans can’t forget about Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle). His fate was left up in the air when the darkness escaped him and turned his heart white. Will he be a changed man now that he’s no longer the “Dark One”? And what’s the “price” he must pay for years of being evil?

“Once Upon a Time” Season 5 premieres on ABC on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. EDT. What do you think the episode 2 title hints at? Tweet your thoughts to @AmandaTVScoop.
