One Direction fans may still be reeling from the news that Zayn Malik has left the popular band, but the show most go on for the remaining four members. Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan are planning their first U.S. appearance post Malik’s departure and are hoping a fun-filled late night gig will help mourning fans get over the recent shakeup.

The band announced Tuesday that their first U.S. appearance since Malik’s exit would be a visit to the new “The Late Late Show with James Corden” on CBS for the May 14 episode.

"We're all so excited to be appearing on ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden.’ James is one of our best mates and we're so proud of the massive success his show is having in America," Payne told People magazine. "We are currently working on a few surprises with James and his team that we hope our fans will enjoy. It's going to be a great night!"

“The Late Late Show” should be a welcoming place for One Direction to introduce their condensed lineup to America. The band and host James Corden, who took over for Craig Ferguson in March, are old friends. Corden reportedly wanted the boy band to serve as the show’s house band at one point. In fact, One Direction helped to introduce the reworked late night show to audiences before it even debuted, joining the host in some promos for the March premiere.

After their appearance on “The Late Late Show,” the four One Direction singers will be embarking on a world tour. After a handful of European dates in June, the band will hit the United States in July starting with a July 9 concert in San Diego.

“The Late Late Show” airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. EDT on CBS.
